A New Term at Little Farmers Club!

A New Term at Little Farmers Club: What to expect!

There is a brand new term for the Little Farmer’s club approaching, and we wanted to give you an insight on what to expect.

With lots of hands-on learning for you and your little ones, and exciting animal adventures – here’s what to expect each week!

WEEK 1 (FROM MONDAY 19TH FEBRUARY): ‘RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS’

This session focuses on random acts of kindness, giving the children chance to express their own understanding of kindness and how they can put this into practice. This session will include a field walk, where the little farmers will be given a pencil and a kindness sheet to fill out. This session will work a little bit different, as our farmer random acts of kindness, is that the little farmers will get some time to play on our new play area, The Jungle Barn.

This weeks book is “The Squirrels who squabbled” by Rachael Bright.

The craft this session is all about making our own kindness tree! Each child will be making their own branch using their handprints, that we can put all together for our kindness tree! After the craft, it is time to go and play!

WEEK 2 (FROM MONDAY 28TH FEBRUARY): ‘CLIP-CLOP!’

This weeks session is all about the wonderful ponies we have at the farm, and the little farmers will get the chance to take them on a walk! Our staff will be there to tell you all about our ponies Holly, Charlie and Smokey-Jo whilst you walk them. This is a great opportunity for the little farmers to be learning, whilst getting stuck into farm life!

This weeks book is “Jonathon the magic pony” by Stuart Heritage

The craft that we will be making based on this weeks session are some mini horses, using some lolly sticks to bring it to life! Come along and get stuck in.

WEEK 3 (FROM MONDAY 4TH MARCH): ‘MONKEY PUZZLE’

This session is a chance for the little farmers to show appreciation for the women in their lives; mums, grandmas, aunts, etc, as we are approaching mothers day. The story we will be reading this session takes us on a journey, and part of that journey is about snakes! This tailors into the rest of the session as we will be taking the little farmers over to reptiles of the world, where they will get the chance to learn about and hold some of our wonderful snakes, such as our corn snake and royal python!

This weeks book is called “Monkey Puzzle” by Julia Donaldson.

The craft part of this session will give the children chance to make some cards for the special women in their lives, using all the crafts we have for them.

WEEK 4 (FROM MONDAY 11TH MARCH): ‘TRACTOR TRACTOR!’

This session is all about conservation and educating the little farmers on such a powerful message. Following the journey for this weeks story, the little farmers will be going on their own journey around the farm on a tractor, to see some of our animas that are ‘rare’, similar to the ones in the story! We will be splitting the session between tractor-trailer rides and Miniville, where the children can spend some time taking part in imaginative play.

The book for this session is called “The Journey Home” by Frank Preston-Gannon.

This weeks craft is lollipop tractors, the children will be shown the craft example before they take part in the session, giving them chance to plan how they would like to design their tractor.

WEEK 5 (FROM MONDAY 18TH MARCH): ‘EASTER’

It is easter week this week, so this session is all about going out to meet all of the different rabbits that we have here at the farm (and the session may include some chocolate for the little farmers!!)

We will be splitting up and going to meet both the Giant Continental rabbits, and the beautiful Netherland Dwarf rabbits over in the Silver Barn, whilst our farmers tell you a little bit about them, and what makes them special at easter.

The book for this session is “The Hot Cross Bunny” by Carys Lexington.

This weeks craft will be designing a carrot painting using your footprint, that you can then decorate how you would like

Spaces at Little Farmer’s Club can be very limited, so be sure to get you and your little ones booked in online now!
