An Exciting New Term of Little Farmers Club is Here!

A new school term is now underway which mean Little Farmers Club is back too! It’s a pre-school club where littles ones can make friends and begin their introduction to learning in a fun, interactive way.

This academic year is full of terrific topics, amazing animals and loads of hands-on crafting and games. So what can you expect each week? Let’s find out!

Week 1 (From Monday 11th September): ‘Down on the Farm’

For newcomers this is a great chance to learn about our farm and find out why we love it so much. For returning members, this is a great chance to meet the new animals that have arrived or been born in the last few weeks. Whether it’s your first time, or you’re a regular, you are sure to make new friends and get ready for the term ahead.

We’ll be reading Axel Scheffler’s fantastic “Flip Flap Farm” before an awesome animal handprint craft. We’ll then head to our own animal paddocks to feed the friendly animals.

Week 2 (From Monday 18th September): ‘Macca the Alpaca’

Our Alpacas are called Eddie, Alfie, Thunderbolt and Stargaze and we can’t wait for you to meet them.

This week we’re reading “Macca the Alpaca” by Matt Cosgrove. Our craft will be a super sensory activity creating fluffy alpacas out of cotton wool. Then it’s outside to meet our own! There’ll be a perfect picture opportunity for your little ones to pose in our giant picture frame with some of our amazing real alpacas.

Week 3 (From Monday 18th September): ‘Tortoises and Turtles’

We’ll be meeting and learning about these amazing animals.

Our book is the hilarious “Turtles and Tortoises are Not Friends” by Mike Reiss. We’ll be making paper plate turtles to take home before we venture into a real animal enclosure. We’ll get kitted up and bath our giant tortoises making sure they’re sparkly and clean.

Week 4 (From Monday 2nd October): ‘Celebrating World Animal Day’

Our big red Massey Ferguson tractor will be taking you around the farm for a little adventure.

“Poo in the Zoo” is our brilliant book written by Steve Smallman. We’ll be making a choice of animal masks before we jump on the tractor and head for a bumpy ride into the paddocks.

Week 5 (From Monday 9th October): ‘Boo! The Brave Mouse’

This is a lovely book by Ben Newman all about being brave.

Our little Framers will be making bravery badges which they can wear with pride after they handle some of our friendly little mice.

Week 6 (From Monday 16th October): It’s Halloween!

Halloween means fancy dress! So start planning your outfits now. Grown ups too! Our book is “Goose’s Spooky Surprise” by Laura Wall.

The little farmers will be picking a pumpkin to take home as well as making some spooky ghosts by blow-painting. How cool!
