Fun at the Farm… How to spend your day!

What to Expect with your General Admission tickets to the Farm!

Despite our Christmas at the Farm experience being sold out… General admission tickets are still available for the weekend! You can still come along and spend a day full of fun animal experiences and a Winters walk!

On your visit to the farm, we recommend pre-booking your general admission tickets online, to receive the best offers! When you arrive, you can check yourself into the farm at the Gift Shop, grab your wristband, and head onsite for a day full of fun.

You will first come across the Go Active Falconry centre, which is great to have a walk round and explore! If you are lucky, you may even get to meet Eddie the eagle, the Go Active mascot, and get a high five and your picture taken. There is a beautiful range of birds to look at, packed with information. Feel free to grab Farmer Simon or Farmer Alice for a chat if you see them, they are full of cool facts about the birds. As well as the Falconry Centre, Go Active also put on an afternoon Falconry show for all the visitors, where you get to see them close up, in action, and learn more about their wonderful talents. You do not want to miss it!

After strolling around the Falconry centre, why not make your way over to the Silver Barn. This barn is full of magic… especially at this time of year. This barn is home to our smaller animals, including animals such as our Guinea pigs and Netherland dwarf rabbits. If you are one of our first visitors on the day of your visit, you will have the option to buy some Guinea Pig veg pots as well as our usual four-legged food. We only sell so many pots on the day so it is first come first served! As well as our little furry friends, we have some exciting Christmas animals in the Silver Barn, including our miniature donkeys and reindeer! We have Ginger & Windy our miniature donkeys, who are living in the Silver Barn and absolutely love a fuss, so why not go and give them a scratch on the nose. Our reindeer Bella & Moss also live in the corner of the Silver Barn, why not go over and listen for the click of their legs! As well as the free roam of wandering round the barn to see these wonderful animals, there is also a ‘Meet the Christmas animals’ talk twice a day, where you can find out some exciting facts about the reindeers, and get to meet the miniature donkeys as one of our keepers brings them out for a walk and a fuss. As well as all these exciting animals, we have our piglets, Boer goats, Golden Guernsey goats and much more to feed!

We also have a new addition to the Silver Barn as of recently. We have some beautiful newborn lambs that are settling in brilliantly here at the farm. All of the mothers have done extremely well, with some of the births being through the night, we are so proud! All of our lambs are cosied up to their mothers in the barn, so be sure to pop along and say hello.

If you arrive to the farm wrapped up nice and warm, you can have a nice stroll up into the fields, and feed some of our animals. You can buy four-legged feed at the Gift Shop, that is for our Sheep, Goats, Alpaca’s and Cows. When you go up and do the field walk, you will encounter a variety of animals full of different characteristics. We have our pygmy goats, who are crazy and love to bounce around and show you their best moves for some food. We then have our Cameroon sheep, who are one of the noisiest members of the farm… even over some of our staff! We have our beautiful Jersey cows who live up in the fields, if you are lucky, they may come close enough for a scratch on the nose. Our Mangalica Pigs love relaxing up in their quiet paddock having a sunbathe, you might not be able to feed these ones, but they are beautiful to look at. Always be sure to give our field walk a go, despite the cold, it is worth it… just look how beautiful it looks in the winter sun.

A new attraction that really is outstanding, is the new reptile house up in the top yard. After lots of hard work, we decided it was time to give our reptiles a new home, and doesn’t it just look amazing. We have our new dwarf crocodiles that live in a big new enclosure, and our visitors just love them. The both look incredible and have such personalities, they really do steal the show! We also have Willow our giant Burmese Python, who has been with us at the farm for a long time, and she is loving her new home. Introduce yourselves to some new reptiles that you may not have encountered before! It truly is beautiful in Reptiles of the World, and a lovely way to warm yourselves on a chilly winter’s day.

Outside Reptiles of the World are our meerkats, Fiddich the Porcupine & our rodent room. Do not give this area a miss, as it truly is fascinating. Our meerkats and porcupine share the same area, and it is very interesting to watch them interact together. We also have our beautiful Cloud rat, chinchilla’s and harvest mice that live in the rodent room. There is such a range of amazing animals, from all over, that you must come and find out some more information about them. You can also come along to our meerkat feeding with one of the keepers here at the farm, which takes place at various times throughout the day, just check the events timetable on your way in.

Even if you have not booked on to the Christmas experience at the farm this year, your general admission entry can still include some Christmas activities. We have our Christmas markets and Light gardens that are accessible to all of our visitors, and you do not want to miss it. Just grab your Elf-coins down at the gift shop, that you can spend on all things Christmas at the market. Anything from reindeer food, to a hot chocolate and mince pie! Visit Pixie’s sweet emporium and spend your currency on a giant lollipop, or toast some marshmallows with your loved ones. There is so much to do with your general admission, that this really will be a magical day.
