Meet the Miniature Donkey’s!

Introducing Ginger and Windy!

Our Miniature Donkey’s are here and ready for Christmas on the Farm! This year we have the beautiful Ginger and Windy here at the farm to spend the festive period with us, and they cannot wait to meet you!

Ginger

Ginger may be a Miniature donkey, but she has a huge personality! She is extremely nosy and will always be very interested in what you are doing. Ginger has a wonderful temperament and loves a fuss from customers, so make sure to give her a scratch on the nose when you next visit the farm.

Ginger may be very well trained, but she can be especially cheeky when she wants to be! Her favourite naughty trick is that she likes to tip over the wheelbarrow when it is full, so we have to keep an eye on her sometimes…. how mischievous!

She will wait eagerly for a fuss and to be groomed by anyone and everyone, and can be extremely noisy if you are being too slow at getting her some food… she will let you know about it! Ginger is 18-years-old and is at her full size and will not grow much bigger. Be sure to come and pay her a visit in the Silver Barn and give her some fuss!

Windy

Windy is very independent and takes on the role of protecting Ginger, our other miniature donkey very seriously. The meaning behind her name comes from her mother, Stormy, which makes perfect sense. Windy is always on high alert to chase any birds that may dare to approach them.

Donkeys can be extremely territorial which comes from evolution and them needing to be on high alert, meaning that Windy does sometimes patrol her field\pen for predators.

Windy is a fantastic donkey and loves being out and socialising, especially during her training sessions. Her naughty habit is that she likes to nudge you when you may not be giving her enough attention, and she then turns around to encourage you to scratch her bottom… how rude! Windy is 16-years-old, so she is slightly younger than Ginger, however they get on extremely well!

Both Ginger & Windy have settled in brilliantly here at the farm, and they are loving all the attention from both the customers and the staff!

You can book an encounter with these guys alone, or as part of the Christmas Animals package here.
