Farm News: What’s been happening?

We have had lots going on recently on the farm, so we thought it was time to give you an update on all the animal news and exciting things that have been happening!

Piglets, piglets & more piglets!

If you have been following us recently, then you will know that both Little T and Nibbly, our Oxford Sandy and Black sows have been due to have their piglets any minute. Well, the time has finally come!

Both Little T and Nibbly, have now farrowed and had their beautiful piglets.

We have 24 little piglets running around in the Silver Barn, 11 from Nibbly and 13 from Little T! They are all doing extremely well, and are super active already… we love the piglet zoomies!

Little T had her piglets on 17th January, and Nibbly had hers on 19th January they both did amazingly! The piglets and both mums, are all cosied up together in the barn keeping nice and warm. Our team are keeping a close eye on them all, whilst giving them plenty of space to settle in!

On your next visit to the farm you are guaranteed to see some gorgeous piglets, so get booked in now… they grow so fast!

The Jungle Barn is coming!

We know you have all been waiting for this!

We can now finally announce to you the opening date for our brand new Jungle Barn indoor play!

Our Jungle Barn will officially open on the 10th February just in time for some half-term fun… we cannot wait to get you guys inside!

We have been working hard to bring you a new and exciting indoor play centre, and our new Jungle Barn is exactly that. Designed to be a fun, immersive-jungle experience, full of excitement and exploration. For avid climbers and scramblers, the jungle barn will be full of adventure for all to enjoy. Grown-ups you will be pleased to know, there will be space for you to sit back and relax too!

The main structural build has now been completed and the final touches are being added to bring the Jungle Barn to you on the 10th February! With a beautiful jungle-themed mural surrounding the main build, we can’t wait for you to see it. Keep your eyes peeled for our big opening announcements. There is not long to go now until our Jungle Barn will be ready for you to explore!

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates on our socials, and we hope you are just as excited as we are… 2 weeks to go!

Lambing season is approaching!

As February half term is fast approaching, the lambing season also begins very soon, so it is time for us to get ready for it!

We have been having a slight shuffle around of our animals this week, to get our pregnant ewes in the barn, getting cosy ready for the time to come. We have a group of both Greyface Dartmoor’s and Dorset ewes that have been moved into the Silver Barn ready for lambing, and they are loving their new home!

These lambs are due to be born around February half-term, so there really isn’t long to go at all! Get your tickets booked in now for Feb half-term.

The Big Garden Birdwatch!

We had lots of fun taking part in the RSPB Big Birdwatch this weekend at the farm!

Lots of our visitors and staff took time in their day to spot some birds in the Tea Room gardens, and we saw lots of different birds indeed.

Our most spotted birds across the two days were Blue Tit’s and Jackdaws… and our visitors loved this!

Lots of you guys also spent some time in our Activity shed, where you learnt all about some new conservation ideas that we can all do to help these birds out in the colder periods. We also saw some beautiful crafts from you guys, and lost of you were eager to take part… it was brilliant.

National Fun at Work Day!

on Friday 26th January, it was National Fun at Work Day, so we asked our staff to send in their ‘fun at work’ selfies… and we were treated!

From foot trimming to wheelbarrow fun, and from painting to staff appraisals… our staff really do know how to have a laugh at work!

Here is what you can see in these selfies:

  • Farmer Sarah and Farmer Jim attempting to foot trim a very naughty Alfie the Alpaca!
  • Farmer Mia having some goat cuddles with her guide group!
  • Farmer Bailey giving Farmer Katie a ride in a wheelbarrow (it doesn’t get much more fun than this!)
  • Farmer Rebecca giving Farmer Vicky her appraisal!
  • Farmer Bridie and Farmer Jim getting covered in paint!
  • Farmer Hayley, Gemma and Sarah taking one of our sheep for a ride… interesting!

We just wanted to give you a little update on what has been happening here at the farm! For more recent updates, check out and follow our socials, or sign up to the newsletter here!
